Tips to get healthy, shiny hair

Who doesn’t want a healthy, shiny hair that makes heads turn as we walk? Obviously, we all do. I mean who likes dull and lifeless hair?

Dull and frizzy hair is one of the most common hair problems we all face at some point.

But don’t worry with a few changes in your lifestyle you can restore your hair back to its original glory.

What is dull hair?

Well, how to put this…healthy hair should be smooth and even that it reflects the sunlight, giving it that shiny look. A damaged hair is usually dry and uneven so it won’t reflect the sunlight, leaving your hair lifeless.

Causes:

There are many causes for hair to become dull. Some of the reasons include:

  1. ·        Overexposure to sunlight and wind,
  2. ·        Washing your hair every day,
  3. ·        Using harsh shampoo,
  4. ·        Using heated tools often,
  5. ·        Dying or bleaching your hair,
  6. ·        Not oiling your hair regularly,
  7. ·        Poor diet,
  8. ·        And sometimes it could be due to underlying health conditions like, Hypothyroidism and malnutrition.

How to get healthy hair?

You can follow these simple tips to restore your hair back to its original health.

Tip#1:

You probably would have heard it a lot of times already but try to avoid using heated tools often. Gently towel dries your hair instead of blow-drying all the time. And if you are blow-drying, make sure to use it in lowest heat settings.

Tip#2:

Wear a cap or scarf over your hair when going out in sunlight. Just like your skin sunlight and dust affects your hair too. The heat will absorb all the natural oil on your cuticle and make it dry and the ends brittle. So, make sure to cover your hair if you are going out in the sun for a long time.

Tip#3:

Do not wash your hair every day. It will stripe off all the natural oil from your scalp and make it dry and breakable. Wash your hair 2-3 times a week with a mild shampoo and use conditioner to lock the moisture.

Tip#4:

Oiling your hair regularly is more important than you think. It is the best way to moisturize your scalp and nourish the roots. Oil your hair at least twice a week before washing your hair. Brushing your hair after applying oil can help to spread the oil evenly and the oil acts as a lubricant to remove tangles which can save your hair from breakage. You can also use herbal oil especially if you have any hair conditions like hair fall, split ends, and premature greying since they contain extract from different herbs.

Tip#5:

Your diet plays an important role in determining the health of your hair. So, try to include more protein and omega-3 in your diet. This can give your hair a natural shine.

“Healthy hair is a reflection of what you put in your body and on your hair”

So, be careful about what products you use on your hair and what you eat. Remember Hydrate, condition and cleanse are the three tricks to get healthy, shiny hair.
