Everything about hair oil

How many of you avoid oiling your hair because it makes your hair “greasy”? On contrary to what you’re thinking oil doesn’t make your hair greasy, in fact, it moisturizes the scalp and gives your hair the nourishment it deserves.

Why should you oil your hair regularly?

Just like our skin, our hair needs oil to stay moisturized. Without oil, our hair looks dry and brittle. Hair oil also lubricates the outer cuticle and moisturizes the roots which make your roots stronger and stimulates hair growth.

How often should you oil your hair?

This depends on your hair type. If you have dry hair then it’s safe to oil your hair three to four times a week. And as for people with normal hair, oiling twice a week is enough.

What is the best hair oil?

Again this depends on your hair type. Everyone scalp and hair is different so there is no one size fits for all in a hair oil. So, you might have to experiment with different types of hair oils to find your ideal hair oil.

However, Coconut oil works well for almost all hair types and is a great natural moisturizer. Applying coconut oil to your scalp the night before you wash your scalp can give your hair a natural shine and helps to lock the moisture.

If you have any hair conditions like hair fall, split ends, dandruff, head lice, and frizzy hair then you can try using good Herbal / Organic hair oil (which is a blend of extracts from different herbs).

What to look for in herbal hair oil?

The ingredient used in making hair oil is the first thing you should notice before purchasing herbal hair oil. If it doesn’t have the right ingredients to promote hair growth and strengthen your hair then it’s pointless to buy it.

Some of the basic ingredients include neem, amla/gooseberry, fenugreek seeds, aloe vera, and hibiscus.

Like I said when it comes to hair oil each of us have different expectations and needs so do some experiments with different products and find the one that works well for you.
