Frequently asked questions about liver disorders

Our liver acts as a filter to remove toxins from your body. But sometimes our lifestyle, diet, and infection damage our liver. But the problem is, liver disorders don’t show any symptoms. And most of the time it’s just tiredness and less concentration. So, people who suffer from the liver disorder aren’t even aware of it.

And so I am here to answer the most frequently asked questions about liver disorders.

How to tell if I have a liver disorder?

Like I said earlier, most of the time liver disorders don’t show any obvious symptoms. The most common symptoms include tiredness, swelling of ankle and legs, easily bruised, jaundice, dark urine, and abdominal pain.

Consult your doctor if you have any of these symptoms for a long time.

Is alcohol the only reason for liver damage?

Other than alcohol, your diet can have a huge impact on the health of your liver. Consuming fried foods, not washing the fruits properly before eating, using drugs, even getting a tattoo or piercing can be the gateway for viruses to enter our body.

Is liver condition reversible?

The thing about the liver is that it’s the only organ which can regenerate. The liver is capable of replacing the damaged cells with a new one. So, yes, all liver condition except cirrhosis is reversible.

What to do if I have fatty liver disease?

There is actually two types of fatty liver disease, alcoholic and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. But the prevention methods are pretty much the same. Avoid alcohol, follow a fiber-rich diet, maintain a healthy weight, avoid oily and fried foods, and include more protein in your diet.

This will give your liver enough time to repair itself.

Can organic liver supplements cure liver disorders?

When it comes to the liver, it is capable of repairing itself over time. But taking a ‘good’ liver supplement can boost its healing process, good being the keyword.

Many manufacturers are selling low-quality or make false claims and just add the word “organic” or “natural” just to make people think it’s healthy. The thing is, just because the bottle says “organic” doesn’t mean they are good for you and your body. Some might have an opposite reaction.

So, if you are planning to take liver supplements make sure to check the ingredients and do backgrounds check about the source. And only purchase from a trusted source.

There are toxins around us all the time so it’s a good thing to opt for an organic solution, but remember they can only help in earlier stages. If you feel like your liver condition is not getting better even after following a proper diet and exercise, then make sure to consult a doctor.
